1where will your wedding take place?
the whole wedding celebration will take place in ginsheim. that's part of ginsheim-gustavsburg, a suburb of mainz.
the marriage ceremony will be in the protestant church of ginsheim, the exact address is: dammstr. 27 · 65462 ginsheim.
the celebration afterwards will be on the island nonnenau. you can only get there by ferry. the ferry is starting its cruise so to say directly from church.
2why ginsheim? aren't you living in bad homburg?
because we found the beautiful island nonnenau in ginsheim. we're sure you'll absolutely love it!
3aren't you both catholic?
yes, we both are catholic. even though we'll have the marriage in a protestant church, it is still gonna be a catholic ceremony. isn't it crazy what's possible nowadays?
4how shall i get home at night?
not at all would be the best! for the sake of having a blast at our party, we've got rooms for you on reservation at the hyatt hotel mainz. very easy and without any hassle.
5how do i get from church to the island for celebration?
the ferry berth is located only 50 metres away from church. the ferry is then gonna take you to the island nonnenau.
6do i have to care about my shoes?
all paths are either paved or gravelled. we offer heel stoppers for protecting your high heels.
7what is the ferry schedule?
the ferry is shuttling until each of you has safely arrived on the island.
going back the ferry is starting each full hour.
8what shall we do about gifts?
having you at our wedding is the biggest gift for us.
if you also wanna enrich our wedding with a gift, we'd be very pleased about an addition to our honeymoon budget.
9what are we supposed to wear?
we've decided on the dresscode "cocktail".
10i get seasick easily!
even if you tend to be seasick, the short ferry ride won't be a problem for you - we promise!
11how long takes the ferry ride and do i have to pay for it?
about 5 minutes/way and is complimentary for our guests.
12can i take my car with me onto the island?
no, the ferry will only bring our guests onto the Island - not the cars. you can leave your car at the parking in the city center (or better, leave it at the hotel).
on the island everything is in walking distance.
pro tipp: book hotel room & use shuttles. cheers!
13i cannot swim, is the island save for me?
yes. in that case, please stay away from the banks and do not jump off the ferry. by the way, this also refers to the swimmers among you, because the streams in the rhine river can be very strong. safety first, even if it's gonna be a hot day!
14how long is the transfer time from hotel to the island?
depending on traffic between 10 and 15 minutes each way.
15i am vegetarian / vegan, will there be food for me?
yes.
16to whom shall i approach for preparing wedding games?
please do not organize any wedding games or performances. if you insist on a short personal contribution, please only do so after checking with our wedding coordinator - no exceptions.
